March 7: National Be Heard Day

What is National Be Heard Day? Is it when you yell really loud so everyone can hear you? Not really. It is dedicated to small businesses that struggle to "be heard" over the bigger businesses. I can relate since I own and operate my own Etsy store. I've worked at a mom and pop store for eight years. I've seen the store struggle. It's a small tourist town in the summer and in the winter, it's almost a ghost town. (Ok, not quite a ghost town, but it's pretty dead.) I've never gone shopping on Black Friday (until this year) because I disagree with many things about it. I believe that the day after Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, is what more people need to support. Shopping local should be a lifestyle.

Note: This was my first year Black Friday shopping. I bought a jacket. That didn't even end up being on sale. But at the time I found out it wasn't on sale, I was already in love with it, so I bought it anyways.

You are probably thinking to yourself "WOW! What beautiful pillowcases!"

These pillowcases are from a small business. Consider buying some pillowcases!

Anyways, please support smaller business. It's someone's livelihood. Shop for gifts for people on Etsy. Even better, shop for gifts for people on my Etsy store. ;)

Note: While I only have a dozen pillowcases listed currently, I have a ton more I need to add to my site. Please check back often!

A big thank you to loyal blog follower Lynda! She recently bought several of my pillowcases and is eagerly awaiting their delivery.   :D
