March 6: National Oreo Cookie Day
Oreo cookies are my forte! I guess I should say, eating Oreo cookies is my forte. They are my go to cookie. Always. My favorite, are the seasonal ones. Like the red ones they have for Christmas or currently, the yellow ones they have for Spring. There's something known as The Oreo Game that you will be required to play if you ever happen to have the luxury to eat seasonal Oreos with me. Why seasonal ones? Because they always have four or five different designs on the back of the cookies.
Note: I am the inventor of The Oreo Game.
Rules for The Oreo Game:
1. Familiarize yourself with the different designs on the Oreos. Memorize them.
2. Reach into the box of Oreos without looking and declare which Oreo you are going to choose based on the design on the back of the Oreo.
3. If you guessed correctly, you get to eat it!
4. If you did not guess correctly, return the Oreo and try again.
It's important that everyone has clean hands while playing this game.
Occasionally, like if you are playing this game with either one of my parents or my past roommate Abby, they might get annoyed at this game. That just means they are NOT Oreo enthusiasts.
If for some reason, I choose not to play The Oreo Game, I will still insist that you show me the design on the Oreo before you eat it.
I have a special talent of making chocolate covered Oreos. It's rather easy.
Melt some chocolate chips and a little vegetable oil using a double boiler. Using tongs or anything you have, dip the Oreos in the melted chocolate until covered. Lay on a waxed paper covered pan and freeze. I've made these for at least the last four New Year Eve's parties I have attended. People come to expect them now. Since, as we all know, sprinkles make everything better, I always add sprinkles on top before placing them in the freezer to harden.
Note: I have looked and looked for a picture of my famous chocolate covered Oreos and sadly I cannot find one. But I promise you, they look amazing, and taste even better.
