Life has a way of being mundane. Sometimes I think I lived the exact same day I did yesterday, and nothing barely changed. Work gets in the way. People say they are too busy. And before you know it, it's a new year. People come and go, but unless something life changing happens, nothing really seems to change.
I graduated college last June. I just got back from a life changing internship that was thrilling every single day. And now I'm back home, figuring out what I'm going to do with my life. But isn't everyone trying to figure out what to do with their life?
I love to bake. And laugh. And make people laugh. I also love to eat. On January 27 I happened to see something on Facebook that it was National Chocolate Cake Day. It was a lovely excuse to bake a chocolate cake. But that single piece of chocolate cake sparked an idea. I could celebrate every day. I could distinguish between the days. No longer would they be mundane, no longer would I do the same thing every day. And this blog was born...
I invite you to celebrate along with me. Leave a comment telling me how you celebrated each day. Post your pictures. Let me know how simply celebrating National Donut Day or National Underwear Day made your day, or someone else's day. I want to hear from all of you.
Oh yeah, it happened to be a coincidence that I started the blog the day after Ellen DeGeneres' birthday. So isn't that something. I started this one-year challenge on National Chocolate Cake Day (which can easily be argued as the BEST day) and I will be ending on Ellen's birthday. Ellen made a comment that she wishes her birthday would be a National Celebration Day. I say we make that happen and I would love to celebrate with her.
